		<description>Hi Ben,

Interesting to find out about iota - it wasn't in my radar.
I would classify it as an ODP application (specifically offline store-front and info browser) that has a text-only interface. I would consider the reliance on SMS as a strong point, but the fact that you are marketing it as a browser may not easily attract operator attention (using an old term for a new tech)

In my mind, Widgets are highly visual graphical interfaces to internet services which live inside on-device applications (widget containers are ODPs again - both ours and ARCchart's definition).

Have noted iota and will contact you next time we are writing a report on the subject.

Thanks,

<description>On-Device portals can be ok and have been around a long time with not a lot of impact.

Most companies in the space (having worled with a number mentioned) struggle with delivering something under 6/12 months and by the time they deliver the device lifecycle is over.

Widgets architectures are a much better way forward and bring the offline experience with a better usability than currently browsing.

MYiOTA is an example of this new Widget Architecture, an SMS style browser which does not require content aggregation as ODP's.

		<description>Hi there,

I believe that in the near future on device portals will be the most used mean for all markets to buy, sell or access. As usual, it now used by only Mobile Operators and leading content providers. But not long time after when the media companies explore the adventages and earnings of that Platform all brand will have its ownd ODP.

As I am working on mobile On Device Portals since an academic approach for nearly one year, I have found a new ODP called Smartface Platform. A few people know there are not so many companies that can provide full solutions in ODPs for operators, content providers and media companies. But this Platform differs from the other Platforms in the market with its designer part of the product.
The company that develops Smartface Platform provides the designer tool for free... Also we can design an ODP with drag and drop actions without any coding, which is the most exciting part for me. This is also remarkably different from all other ODPs.
Of course all is not that... I offer everyone to check that free tool.
