You missed one of the more important announcements at CTIA. SiRF introduced SiRFstudio, a location platform that is essentially the location equivalent of OpenSocial. And they announced it at a summit gathering SiRF put together that included about 300 of the location industry's very top executives. The SiRFstudio APIs give developers a standardized way to access location functionality across platforms, and its adoption is gaining momentum. The model is similar to what is being speculated for the Google phone, i.e., giving it away, but sharing in revenues.

UIQ analysis --- simple great.

Motorola back to Symbian... after long time.... Good for symbian. But Nokia will have to be ready for a tough competition ahead. Another factor is phenomenon growth of mobile applications and more revenue and dollar war for every devleoper. Good webstores filled with mobile content like feedurmobile.com, dogandbonegames.com,nclubsoft.coim will have to act smarter to win the dollar war.

<!--%kramer-pre%-->s firmware... but check out this video on the N95 Blog, showing auto-screen rotation according to the N95's built-in level sensor. Pretty smooth, although the software's still in testing. Carnival 97Carnival of the Mobilists no. 97 is over at VisionMobileand well worth reading. And make sure you read their own analysis of the Motorola buyout of 50% of UIQ, showing how it makes financial sense.
