Andreas Constantinou

As Founder and Managing Director, Andreas oversees the research and strategy projects at VisionMobile. He has ten years experience in mobile having led strategy projects for brand-name clients across the industry, including Nokia, RIM, Telenor, Telefonica, Vodafone, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Gemalto and Tieto.

Andreas is also an Adjunct Professor at Lund University, Sweden and teaches Entrepreneurship at the Athens Economics University. He holds a Ph.D. in Image & Video Compression from the University of Bristol, UK.

Prior to founding VisionMobile, Andreas spent 3 years at Orange’s Research & Innovation division. His interests include uncovering under-the-radar industry trends and mapping the mobile industry. When not hopping on planes, Andreas spends his time in Athens, Greece.

George Voulgaris, Ph.D.
Operations Director

George Voulgaris

George has a multidisciplinary background in academic research, wireless technology due diligence and product management positions. He is currently appointed as VisionMobile's Operations Director. During the past two-years, he has coordinated and led research projects within VisionMobile, having expertise in subject matters such as mobile service analytics, UI customisation technologies, active idle screen products, on device portals and business model innovation.

Prior to joining VisionMobile, George spent four years in the wireless and IP networking industry, including positions as Product Manager for HP ProCurve and D-Link networking Products at Pouliadis Corp., and Inside Sales Engineer & Business Analyst for Cisco products at Logicom Group. He has also served as a part-time Lecturer at the University of Glamorgan in the subjects of Computer Networks (Cisco Networking Academy), Computer Programming and Computer Architecture & OSes. He is intimately familiar with IP Telephony and Wireless Networking technologies.

George holds a Ph.D. from the University of Glamorgan, Wales on Content-based Image Indexing and Retrieval (funded by the UoG), an MSc in Communications Systems & Signal Processing from the University of Bristol,UK (funded by the EPSRC) and a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Cardiff University, Wales (LEA funded). He has published seven papers on content extraction from compressed images, including 3 articles published by the IEEE. He is also a contributing author at the InfoCom Telecoms & IT Business Review magazine. His interests are in telecoms convergence and mobile software development.

Michael Vakulenko
Strategy Director

Michael Vakulenko

Michael has over 15 years experience in mobile telecom and wireless Internet with track record of product and technology innovation. He started his involvement in wireless in QUALCOMM and later worked for number of wireless startup companies in Israel and in the US.

Michael's broad professional experience spans mobile internet services, smartphone software platforms, handset architectures, cellular networks and wireless silicon.

His ability to link technology with business drivers and separate hype from reality is based on solid understanding of industry trends, technology roadmaps and deployment aspects of mobile applications and services.

Michael actively participates in industry debate speaking at industry forums, taking part in panels and blogging on smartphone strategy and competition.

Matos Kapetanakis
Marketing Manager

Matos Kapetanakis

As Marketing Manager, Matos is responsible for VisionMobile's marketing, communications and PR. Matos manages VisionMobile's blog pipeline, website, news & releases, marcoms and leads the market data gathering efforts. Matos is also Product Manager for VisionMobile 100 Million Club and leads the company's stealth research products.

Matos comes from a decidedly non-mobile background - being a Physics and MBA graduate plus experience as a Marketing Manager in cultural media companies - however, he's been quickly lured into the ever-evolving world of wireless communications. Matos spends his time on Twitter and Facebook (working...no, really) plus understanding the wonderful world of communities and conversations.

Vanessa Measom
Marketing Assistant

Vanessa

As part of the Marketing team and the voice behind the newsletter and site announcements, Vanessa oversees the marketing and promotional activities at VisionMobile. Whilst relatively new to marketing , Vanessa has spent the last five years embracing the internet and the vast number of opportunities that come with it. She is always interested in the latest developments in internet marketing and is keen to try out new strategies and ideas to increase her knowledge base.

Prior to VisionMobile Vanessa has worked in both the healthcare and photography industry in a number of roles that has provided her with a diverse range of skills and knowledge. She has a strong interest in internet marketing and has been involved in launching a number of websites relating to holistic health, food and most recently gardening.

Stijn Schuermans
Business Analyst

Stijn

As a Business Analyst, Stijn focuses on visualizing and quantifying the business models of the different players in the mobile domain. His particular interest is in understanding how technology becomes value-creating innovation and which consequences this has for mobile company strategy. By applying modern economic theory to the mobile industry, Stijn supports the workshops, reports, presentations and blog posts of VisionMobile.

A Belgian national, Stijn holds a master degree in electronics engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven. After graduating, he gained more than 6 years experience in technology start-ups as an engineer, product manager, strategist and business analyst. Prior to joining VisionMobile, he obtained an MBA at Athens University of Economics and Business.

Åse Stiller
Senior Analyst

Åse has 10 years experience working in the telecom industry including UIQ, Symbian and Teleca. Åse teaches VisionMobile’s 360 degree training course on mobile open source and is responsible for licensing and open source advisory projects.

Åse's expertise lies in software sourcing and licensing, including risk analysis and policy development, legal assessment, process assessment, corporate training, planning and intellectual property management for both proprietary and open source software.

While at Teleca, Åse Stiller was global business developer for mobile platform integration of the Obigo messaging and browsing products from 2001 through 2006. Åse worked with OEM and ODM customers in Asia, USA and Europe and program managed the integration of Obigo to two different mobile operating systems.

While at UIQ, Åse was responsible for software sourcing, strategic partnerships, supplier management and open source processes.

Christina Voskoglou
Research Partner

Christina has more than 12 years of experience in statistical consulting, business & customer intelligence design, data mining and financial analysis & forecasting. She holds an MSc in Statistics from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a BSc in Economics & Statistics from the University of Bath.

Prior to founding ClientIntell, she has served as Customer Relationship Manager for the Household Lending Unit of EFG Eurobank Ergasias, in charge of both the analysis / intelligence and the campaign design & execution of all direct marketing campaigns to customers for usage, cross-selling and retention reasons. Other managerial positions before that include that of the Customer Analysis & Campaign Manager and that of the Head of Financial Planning & MIS for EFG Eurobank Consumer Lending. While at the above positions, Christina was the first to design advanced financial reporting & forecasting analyses for EFG Eurobank Consumer & Household Lending, as well as set up from scratch all the customer analysis and campaign philosophy, infrastructure, analysis, and value-based direct marketing strategy. She also led big projects for the Bank, such as Risk & Value Based Pricing for consumer-lending products.

Outside the banking sector, Christina has worked on various transportation engineering projects, international-scale mobile industry research projects and retail industry business intelligence projects. As a trainer, she has several years of experience in training junior analysts in reporting and analysis methods, and has also taught statistical applications in transportation engineering and consumer lending.

Jean-Marie André
Research Partner

Jean-Marie is a veteran of the GSM industry.

As the co-founder of Purple Labs SA, he was actively involved in the growth of the company from 2001 until its sale to Esmertec in early 2009, first as the COO and more recently as SVP Corporate Development.

Prior to funding Purple Labs, Jean-Marie was part of the funding team of Sensei Ltd (1998-2001), acquired by VTech. Beforehand, he was involved in the setup of Philips worldwide operations center in France.

Before joining the GSM industry, Jean-Marie was a consultant in real-time embedded systems. A regular speaker at numerous conferences, Jean-Marie is also lecturing with French engineering school Supelec since 1992.

Peggy Anne Salz

Peggy Anne Salz tracks not only the global mobile telecoms industry, but also the business models and trends that will shape its future. Her drive to separate the reality from the hype and spark debate about issues impacting the mobile industry at all levels has won her international recognition as a brave new voice in the mobile content market. Her most recent report, Mobile Search & Content Discovery’the first of its kind’establishes Peggy as an authority on mobile search and content discovery technologies enabling media companies and mobile operators to monetize the Long Tail of hit-and-miss content. Peggy also writes ‘Agile Minds,’ a monthly column for eContent magazine documenting the breakthrough technologies and companies that will influence the next-generation Internet widely referred to as Web 2.0.

Not one to sit back and watch, Peggy proactively shapes industry debate in the mobile space. Her speaking calendar includes engagements at mobile search and mobile advertising conferences worldwide, where she both chairs the events and leads roundtable discussions. Peggy founded her site and independent consultancy in response to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from her mobile search reports and her in-depth analysis for clients in the media and technology business.
